Flowers and shrubs are great, butt the accessories you buy for the yard tell a story. They create a vision that prospective buyers fall in love with. Buyers will imagine themselves entertaining friends on summer nights underneath the the bistro lights, or curled up with a drink and a blanket around the fire pit in the fall. They will dream of tending to a vegetable garden, snipping flowers from the window boxes, and learning the ins and outs of filler, spiller, and thriller as they ready their planters each season. These recommendations don’t just look nice – they are selling a lifestyle.

Bistro lights

Bistro Lights – these lights can spark visions of entertaining family and friends for any occasion. A string of bistro lights causes buyers to imagine a warm, spring night with friends.

Window boxes

A home with window boxes is charming and a worthy addition to your home. It may be difficult to maintain the boxes in colder months but you can always use artificial flowers.

Vegetable garden bed

A vegetable or herb garden in the backyard is very appealing to potential buyers. They can just imagine all the tomatoes and vegetables they are going to grow. You could also consider a raised bed for planting.

Adirondack chairs and a fire pit

If you haven’t put a lot of time into your yard, a quick fix could be as simple as bringing in a few Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. Buyers like to be able to imagine or see themselves enjoying the outside as an extension of indoor living.
