Historic Gardens

Connecticut’s Historic Gardens are a group of 15 distinctive historic sites and gardens dotted throughout the state.

The sites and gardens offer visitors an opportunity to explore a variety of garden styles and time periods. And, visitors can learn about gardens ranging from colonial-period herb gardens to elaborate Colonial Revival-era gardens. Take some time with friends and family to enjoy a lovely afternoon in a variety of historic settings.

  • Butler-McCook House & Garden: 396 Main Street, Hartford
  • Florence Griswold Museum: 96 Lyme Street, Old Lyme
  • Glebe House Museum & The Gertrude Jekyll Garden: 49 Hollow Road, Woodbury
  • Harkness Memorial State Park: 275 Great Neck Road, Waterford
  • Harriet Beecher Stowe Center: 77 Forest Street, Hartford
  • Hill-Stead Museum: 35 Mountain Road, Farmington
  • Osborne Homestead Museum & Kellogg Environmental Center: 500 Hawthorne Ave, Derby
  • Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden: 55 South Main Street, Suffield
  • Promisek at Three Rivers Farm: 694 Skyline Ridge Road, Bridgewater
  • Roseland Cottage: 556 Route 169, Woodstock
  • Stanley-Whitman House: 37 High Street, Farmington
  • Thankful Arnold House Museum: 14 Hayden Hill Road, Haddam
  • Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum: 211 Main StreWethersfield
