Cabin Fever Relief Part 3: Get off the Fence

Robert Frost famously mused in verse about why his New Hampshire neighbor was so determined to fence his property off when natural forces and common sense conspired against the idea. His neighbor simply states, “good fences make good neighbors.”

That’s not entirely true though is it? It’d be more accurate to say that good fences prevent bad neighbors. It places a clear and distinct mark on the property line. What’s yours is yours; what’s theirs is theirs. Would you really want someone else’s shrubbery on your property, that you’re paying taxes for?

One of these things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn’t belong.

There are many different materials of fences available to use (vinyl, wood, wrought iron, etc.), and each of those materials has a plethora of different styles to use (short, tall, wiry, flat, etc.). What type of fence you use depends on what your house and lawn look like (you wouldn’t put a white vinyl fence with a rustic wood/iron style house), what is the primary purpose of the fence (is it for decor, and tying your lawn together; is it for privacy, to keep out intruders and trespassers)?
