It’s time to clean, test, prune, and plant your garden. Here are a few gardening tasks to tackle in March.
- Clean up water features like ponds and bubblers. They might have algae or too much nitrogen from leaves.
- Empty bird boxes. Do a deep clean of all bird feeders.
- Divide tubers and plan your bulbs.
- Prep the garden beds. Remove leaves and branches. Get rid of weeds and make sure to pull out entirely. Mulch the beds.
- Test the soil. Collect a little dirt and have it tested.
- Plant or prune roses.
- Fertilize shrubs.
- Plant spring vegetable crops.
